• Acoustic / speaker. Oriented to sound passage or acoustic facing (e.g. grille cloth) — openness depends on weave, knit, and backing.
• Softgoods. Common in sewn or laminated soft products — bags, covers, sleeves, apparel-adjacent parts.
• Breathable. Allows relatively more air/moisture vapor passage than coated shells — construction still dominates.

Qualitative screening for speaker cloth and softgoods — not lab acoustic curves or textile test methods. Construction, finish, and backing dominate real performance.

• Very open acoustic path
• Often a layer in a softgoods or grille stack, not the only visible surface
