Manufacturing Process Overview

SLS (Selective Laser Sintering)

Fuse polymer powder with a laser to build durable nested parts without dedicated supports.

Advantages
  • No support structures in many polymer SLS workflows
  • Good for complex organic shapes
  • Nesting improves machine utilization
Limitations
  • Powdery surface finish
  • Material set narrower than FDM filaments
  • Thermal history can affect dimensions
How it works
  1. Nest parts in the powder bed
  2. Laser-sinter layer by layer
  3. Cool the cake
  4. Break out, bead blast, and finish

Typical fit: Functional nylon parts and complex low-volume geometries
